Visit Homer Alaska

Homer, Alaska, is located at the very end of the Sterling Highway (US Highway 1).  225 miles South of Anchorage, the scenic highway runs into the confluence of the dramatic Cook Inlet and stunning Kachemak Bay.

Homer isn’t just the end of the road…Homer is the gateway to Kachemak Bay State Park and Wilderness Area - established in 1970 - the first State Park in Alaska.  It is the Halibut Capitol of the World,  home of the world-famous Winter King Tournament in March and the Homer Elks Club Winter King Derby in October.  Home of theHomer Shorebird Festival in May, the July Peony Festival, the take-off point for bear viewing in Katmai National Park and Lake Clark National Preserve, and so much more.
